About IIT Advanced Joint Entrance Exam on Percentile Based Formula:

According to the new admission format IIT-JEE from 2013 the successful candidates have to be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards to get a final rank in the IIT-JEE. Now, candidates will first appear for the JEE (main) screening test, which will filter out the top 1.5 lakh students for the JEE (advanced) test. The final IIT ranking would depend only on the all India rank in JEE (advanced), subject to the successful students meeting the percentile criteria.

The Advance Joint Entrance Exam-2013 would be held on 2nd June 2013. The students appearing in this Advanced JEE would be getting a chance to take admission in IITs, IT-BHU and ISM-Dhanbad.

IIT Bombay Approves of the 20 Percentile Formula for New IIT-JEE

CET 2013 :

1. JEE Main (Same As Old AIEEE)

Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, Other centrally funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by several participating State Governments, and several other Institutions shall involve the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). The JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs

Offline Exam: 7th April, 2013

Online Exam: 8th to 30th April, 2013

2. JEE Advanced (By IITs)

Offline Exam Only: 2nd June, 2013

 

JEE Main 2013 Eligibility Criteria  

The JEE Main 2013 Eligibility Criteria will have the following clauses:
  • The candidates’ minimum qualification should be Class XII or its equivalent exam. The candidates who are appearing in the class XII exam in the year of 2013 can also apply for the exam. However, the final admission of such candidates will be subject to the condition that their result satisfies the JEE Main 2013 Eligibility Criteria.
  • It is necessary that the candidate satisfies the eligibility criteria of the college he/she is applying in addition to satisfaction of JEE Main 2013 Eligibility Criteria.
  • The admissions in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Institutions will be governed by the satisfaction of JEE Main 2013 Eligibility Criteria for these institutions.
  • The IITs and ISM Dhanbad aspirants must ensure their eligibility as per the JEE Advanced 2013 Eligibility Criteria.
  • The detailed information about the JEE Main 2013 Eligibility Criteria will be uploaded as soon as the JEE 2013 Prospectus is released.

 

JEE (ADVANCED) 2013 Eligibility Criteria

JEE Advanced Eligibility 

As per the newly agreed arrangements made on June 27, 2012 between HRD ministry and IIT Council, all aspirants will appear JEE  Main examinations (old name ISEET Main Examination). Of the students appear for JEE Main Examination, only top 1.5 lakhs students will be eligible for JEE Advanced Tests (old name ISEET Advanced Test). There will be a gap between the JEE Main Test and JEE Advanced Test. All 1.5 lakhs students will be given all India rank. The JEE Advanced Test (old name ISEET Advanced Test) will be conducted by IITs.

For IITs, in addition to the JEE Advanced Test rank, students must be in the top 20 percentile of their respective board examinations (Central or State). For example the qualifying percentage for a student appeared in CBSE board will be 78% (Highest score being 98%). With the new arrangements, the class 12 Board marks will not be considered for admission to IITs.

The JEE Main will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE) with coordination from IITs. However, the JEE Advanced shall be conducted by IITs. Admission to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) will be based on the JEE Main score, whereas IITs shall take candidates considering the ranks obtained by the candidate in JEE Advanced.

JEE 2013 Exam Date

The JEE Main will be considered for admissions into engineering institutes including IITs, IIITs, NITs and other deemed universities and state level engineering institutions from 2013.

Offline Exam: 7th April, 2013

Online Exam: 8th to 30th April, 2013
